2012-13 Fairmont State Basketball: A Season To Remember
Fairmont State had two of the best individual players in men’s and women’s basketball history suiting up this year in Isaac Thornton and Kaitlin Snyder. While the two dazzled fans with stellar performances in each of their four seasons, each player wanted to be known for something beyond their individual feats and go out as winners. And the 2012-13 season proved to do exactly that. The basketball teams each won 20 games and Fairmont State was the only school in the Atlantic Region to send both its men’s and women’s teams to the NCAA Tournament. |

A&T Seniors: Back And Better Than Ever
It’s typical for seniors in their final home competition to reflect on their journey and absorb a final moment in their athletic careers. For Paige Peters, Courtney Sayre and Emily Sommer on the acrobatics and tumbling team, their “Senior Day” had a little extra meaning. All three suffered potential career-ending knee injuries, including two by both Peters and Sayre, and all have bounced back to compete at a high level for the Falcons. |

Jason Woodman: Never At The Finish Line
Working in sports is a unique (and desirable) field because you can never get to the end. If you finish the season with a losing record, you start the next day to get better players, come up with better strategies and find ways to improve every facet of the program. Even if you won all of your games and won a national championship, you bask in that glory for, oh, about 24 hours, and then the next day you start trying to get better players, come up with better strategies and improve every facet of the program. |
